Needless to say there have been about a million changes in my life over the past two months. I left New York; I said goodbye to all of my friends; I spent more time with my family than I have in the last eight years; I moved to Morocco; and I met about 50 of the coolest people you'll ever find. For a while it felt like absolutely everything had changed and, yet, I couldn't articulate it. So that's why I haven't written. But I plan to - a lot. And I need your help. Send me questions and tell me what you're curious about. It will help me process it all and help me share it, as well. I miss home a great deal, but really feel like I'm on the right path here in Morocco. I hope to hear from everyone soon!

Your Uncle and I just got back from a weekend Palm Springs, and it's remarkable how similar it looks to the photo you posted of the Kasbah! Perhaps things really are the same all over...:)
Anyway, We were out there with the Days (Danny & Judy & kids) and the Hernandezes (Karen & Eddie) - a great time overall but too short of a vacay. And then we come back and there's some kind of wildfire out in Ramona and it literally blackened the skies around Rancho Bernardo - it's pretty clear by our house, but you can still smell the smoke in the air. Not to worry, though - I think they have it almost contained and the fire's not even close to SD proper.
So...Morocco-side - what's been the biggest challenge? The language, maybe - how's that going? Do they speak in diffrent dialects like in Italy where it vaires from one town/region to the next? Tell me (us) what's the funniest wrong thing you've said so far. And how about a little insight into the food(stuffs) - you know that's always big on my list!
And what a lovely ode to your grandmother. She is quite fantastic, isn't she - and I know we all feel as blessed as you do to have her in our lives. It was so cool spending so much time with you before you left...it really made it hard to say goodbye, though. I PROMISE, I will figure out how to download all those photos from my camera and get them posted so you can see us anytime you like.
I'm going to try and call you again this week - I did look up the directions on Google but still to no avail. That's all right, though - your grandma didn't raise no quitters. A evidenced by you, eh?
